AVOID AT ALL COSTS- I had the misfortune of Stephensons acting for my buyer on a recent transaction which took over 19 weeks to go through. It was a simple transaction with no chain either end but Stephensons delayed the sale at every stage, at one point taking over 5 weeks to acknowledge responses to enquiries. If I was trying to tie in a purchase I would have certainly lost it due to the time this took to go through. Both my estate agent and solicitor chased Stephensons religiously to try and get an update and sense out of them but were constantly batted away by a receptionist stating the fee earner was in meetings or out of the office. My buyer called my agent in tears at the stress it was putting her under, from my understanding, I dont believe she actually spoke to her solicitor on the phone! In summary, to quote my solicitor This is one of the worst firms that I have encountered over the last 15 years... she (the buyer) should make a formal complaint to the Solicitors and the Legal Ombudsman.

Please stay away from this law firm. They only care about money and nothing else. Careless people no sympathy at all. One month it took them to tell me they hadn't received my letters. Full of excuses and nothing else. You have been warned stay away from them. Yes I did loose my cool. But only after I waited one month for them to tell me they haven't received my letter. After they accepted my case and wasted one month of my time. They found excuses to drop my case. I see English people are leaving positive feedback. But another foreign name has left a negative feedback.
