Went with Shearings last year stayed at the Royal Victoria at Llanberis. What an appsolutely waste of money. We left Stretton about 1030, thirty minutes later we arrived at out first location, CHESHIRE OAKES. We were there for three long hours if I wanted to go there I would drive there. Next day a ride up Snowdon on the train, followed by visit to Bets y Coed. Next day the driver informed us was our free day because of his driving hours, he hsdnt done any. Another day trip next day and another out let village at Tweedmill. Won't be using this company again felt ripped off.
I had the most amazing hoilday with shearings went to newcastle and durham for 5 day break the coach driver Ray was amazing really funny and friendly helpful. Got to the hotel by 3.30pm had enough time to look around and take pics of the hotel before dinner. Dinner was really nice three courses every night breakfast was ok but not much on offer tea and coffee fruit juice for breakfast and tea and coffee for dinner. Hotel room really nice spacious and clean. The cleaners came every morning to tidy up emptied bins etc. There was some mould on certain parts of the hotel and some damp but it didnt bother me. The hotel staff were amazing couldnt do enough for you the manager very good receptionist was amazing always said hello good morning, the excurisons were very good Newcastle and the trip to sheldon train museum was excellent i went to the navy ships in Hartlepool really good day out the driver Ray had us all on the coach in stiches and laughter he was brilliant coach driver. Very informative and he was very very nice to us all. I cant wait to go back in fact im booking another holiday with shearings soon im hoping it will be with the same driver Ray he had us all in laughter you dont never forget great coach drivers like that. I hope to see Ray again one day i would really like to go to Newcastle again we had a stop at the Angel of the North for 20 mins enough time to take pics went through Gateshead you dont get many coach drivers as friendly as ray was he really put a smile on a lot of passengers faces even mine.
Coach tour to Lake Como, December 2018. Great hotel poor information from shearings prior to booking - details very thin on the ground. Had I known that dining tables would have been shared, or that there would be other coach tours at the hotel, that there would be a lack of Italian atmosphere, that we would have been shepherded around without consultation, I would not have booked. It was a shame that the coach driver (who knew his stuff) wouldn't speak to the loud hysterical people who were disturbing others on the coach - this went on all the time we were on the coach (two days there and two days back), put us off doing the scheduled tours. Staff at the office may well have known what they were doing, but I need detail, for example I now know what 'Hythe' is, prior to going it was just a town in Kent to me. Won't be bothering them with my hard-earned cash again.
Don't buy anything from this horrendous company. They took my 17 year old daughter on as a trainee accountant then sacked after 4 days with no explanation. Greedy and exploitative.
Eastbourne Majestic Hotel owned and ran by shearings week 1st week in June 2018 level 2 in hotelWe went out for the day leaving a clean toilet in our rooms ensuite came back in the afternoon and our toilet had been used and not flushed now only people who have access to the room when we was out is majestic hotel cleaners and we also wasn't the only ones to have this happen to us a few days earlier a couple stood in the que for tea was also complaining about the exact same thing staff using their ensuite then stinking the room out and just leaving it.The cleaning standards at this hotel are so bad you don't know what they touched in your room without washing their hands after they used our toilet as they didn't flush the toilet I think its safe to assume they didn't wash their hands neither.This is a great shame as I was planning on booking a shearings holiday in 2019 but after the such low standards of staff cleanliness and lack of respect for guests rooms I won't be going anywhere near a bay hotel ever again
