Lovely relaxing oasis in the town Centre. Nice cafe in the park.The park isn't taken care of as well as it was. Victim of spending cuts I guess... Bowling greens, tennis courts and tennis courts left to decay, flower beds not a patch on what they where. The council does put some Sunday music events on which seem well attended. Hopefully they have a plan to restore it to its former glories as it is a real asset to the town.
Excellent place to do your daily exercise. Well kept and clean
Lovey Park. Has the usual park attractions. A Cafe, bandstand, duck pond, childrens play area, small football pitch, basketball court and I bowling green (I still think it's used) correct me if I'm wrong. Nice place to visit.
Makes me feel nostalgic. Takes me right back. Nothing it like it was in its hayday. I have so many memories here. Through my entire childhood, we came here and rubbed the old mans shiney shoe. We fed the ducks in the pond. Played hide and seek amidst the bushes. Made dens in them too. There was crazy golf. A cafe in the center. A wildlife center and baby park. Bowls. Tennis. Such great great memories here.
A lovely afternoon for the children to run around the green areas or play on the two playgroups depending on your child's age. The walkways around and through the park are great for walking your dog.There is a small cafe in the pavilion building overlooking the playground.
