A very inefficiently run organisation that is run with arrogance and contempt for the people who's hard earned money fund it. Quite simply if this was run as a business it would have no customers. A council should be run for the people that fund it not for layers upon layers of management that couldn't run a bath. The local area is getting worse, the local services are getting worse and council tax keeps getting bigger. Unlike a business if you don't pay for poor service you get put in prison. What a great system.
I used the drop in centre at Wigan Library. They have loads of booths which are unmanned so you have to & I had to wait ages to see an advisor. She was helpful though so not all bad.
How on earth do I set up payment to pay council tax. This is a beyond dreadful service. Have created an account and now asking me for a 16 digit number...... frustrated and very upset . Moving is bad enough and really I need to simply speak to a human being who can advise me . Truly I don't have time for this.
I'm being generous with the one star. I called to report a monster of a pothole outside my home. After holding the line for 15 minutes, I was cut off. I called again, held the line for another 15 minutes, and was cut off once more. I finally got through to somebody after three calls and almost 40 minutes. I hope this gets sorted.
1. Took over 4 weeks for our bins to be delivered. Had to make several tip runs.2. Live in a new build house; Black bin not emptied on the day. Rang twice to report during the week and they said it should be within the week. 3. Week after, Brown bin not emptied either. Now 2 full bins outside. Rang and reported missing bin. Gentleman on the phone took my number and said his supervisor will ring me that day to explain the situation and resolve the issue... No phone call received that day. Very difficult to find any kind of contact number. When I eventually did it was from Google and was the switchboard number. Within 1 minute of my call they asked me where I got the number from! Unbelievable! The systems in place are so clearly ineffective. Emails passed around from one person to another and you leave each phone call none the wiser to when your bins are being sorted. Phone calls direct to workers in the area, on the day you report the missing bin, should be made and it would be sorted immediately. Inefficient and incompetent.
